Local audio and visual systems company passes cost savings to clients

PRO-AV founders cite expertise and rural location for great value

BARRINGTON, NH, October 16, 2007 - A local company's advanced understanding of audio and visual design needs and small business practices have led to a cost savings for educational institutions and corporations throughout New England.

PRO-AV LLC co-founder Dave Meneely said his business has grown exponentially since he started it with partner Matt Leccacorvi in April of 2005. However, the two men said they pride themselves on keeping the business small enough so that overhead costs are not passed on to the customer.

"We are only an hour north of Boston, an hour from Portland and 45 minutes from Manchester," said Leccacorvi, adding that his team travels regularly to Vermont as well.

Meneely said PRO-AV's unique approach to training its staff leads to another cost savings for clients. All employees start in the field and eventually work their way through sales, engineering and project management so they are familiar with each stage of implementation.

"We are a full-service audio visual systems integration company, meaning that we work on a project from start to finish," said Meneely. "We design it, quote it, sell it and service it, so it is important that our employees understand that process from beginning to end. Similarly, it is important that our clients reach out to us from the project's inception because it can save them a ton of money in the long run."

He said that as audio and visual products become more available and more common in the workspace, architects and designers will start on a room and the technical aspects are often left to the end. When this happens, Leccacorvi adds, tables often have to be cut, walls are torn down and other features of the design are ruined.

"Because we are so hands-on and we know what is needed to be done in terms of installation, we advocate for getting involved early and, ultimately, that translates to a cost savings for our clients and smaller headaches for us," said Meneely.

While PRO-AV does some residential work, a majority of its efforts are commercial. The business often contracts with colleges, universities and corporations that need projection or video systems, sound reinforcement, audio and speech control, and video or audio conferencing for classrooms and boardrooms.
